The Song of the Coquí
There are 17 species of coquí frogs native to Puerto Rico. Yes, that’s right 17! Chi Chi Rodriguez Books welcomes a new addition to Carlito the Coquí’s family, the Juan A. Rivero’s Coqui! This new species of coquí frog was discovered after the first printing of There’s a Coquí in My Shoe! in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, and we’ve included this cute, little guy in our subsequent printings! Here’s a sneak peek at a few of Carlito’s and Juan’s cousins. There’s a Coquí in My Shoe! is the first children’s picture storybook illustrating Puerto Rico’s 17 coqui frogs! Each species of coquí frog has its own unique song. To hear their lullabies, visit proyectocoqui.org. Enjoy!
